Byron L. Carr, DMD, FAGD

I knocked out my tooth. What should I do?

A knocked-out tooth is a time-sensitive dental emergency, so please don't wait to contact your dentist in Temecula, CA, at (951) 296-0705 for prompt treatment. When you knock out or dislodge a tooth, Dr. Carr may be able to save it if he's able to treat it as soon as possible.

The first thing to do is to contact your emergency dentist in Temecula, CA. Next, you'll want to carefully bring your tooth to our dental office. Don't handle or touch it a lot. Putting it back in its socket is best if possible. If not, you can use milk or saliva to keep the tooth moist while transporting it to Dr. Carr.

When a tooth gets knocked out, it's stressful, and your first instinct might be to head to a hospital emergency room. However, hospitals don't have the proper equipment to handle a knocked-out tooth, so it will save you precious time to call your dentist first.

Our team is here to help! Even if you're unsure your situation is a dental emergency, we encourage you to call us first. Our team members can provide guidance for you over the phone and help determine if you need immediate attention.
