Dental Implants

Do you have gaps in your smile due to missing teeth? When you have missing teeth, you may feel embarrassed or self-conscious about your appearance or experience pain when eating certain foods.

Dr. Byron Carr is an experienced dentist who sees the toll that tooth loss takes on his Hemet and Temecula patients and their quality of life. If you want tooth replacement but desire a more secure solution than removable dentures, Dr. Carr would love the opportunity to explain the benefits of dental implants.

Trust an Experienced Dental Implant Dentist

For over 30 years, Dr. Carr has been providing quality dentistry, and his lifelong commitment to advanced training and continuing education allows him to offer complete dental implant services.

The best teeth are natural teeth, but dental implants are the next best thing. Using implants, Dr. Carr can replace a single tooth or multiple missing teeth.

Using state-of-the-art 3-D imaging technology, Dr. Carr plans the surgical placement of your implant, monitors the healing process, and then places a durable tooth restoration on the implant to complete your smile.

Dental Implants: A Long-Term Tooth Replacement

A dental implant is a titanium post that Dr. Carr places surgically in your jawbone. The implant acts as a replacement tooth root to keep the bone strong and healthy.

The procedure takes about an hour and is performed under local anesthesia. Your mouth will be numb, so you won’t feel anything. If you need some help to relax, Dr. Carr is a certified sedation dentist who offers multiple methods that will put you at ease.

Since there are no nerves in bone, most patients experience little discomfort during the procedure or afterward. If you have been told you can’t get an implant because of bone loss, Dr. Carr would be happy to talk to you about bone grafting.

Implant Healing and Tooth Restoration

After implant placement is the healing process that takes several months. Once we know the implant has healed, Dr. Carr places a small connector piece to it called an abutment, then attaches your crown, bridge, or denture.

Since the implant root functions in the same way as a real tooth root, it helps you maintain a strong and healthy jawbone. In turn, this helps fill out your facial features and eliminates the hollow or sunken appearance.

Enjoy the Stability of Implant Retained Dentures

If you are missing multiple teeth and want a more predictable solution than dentures, we offer implant-retained dentures.

Dr. Carr recommends implant-supported dentures for patients who are missing multiple teeth or all upper teeth, lower teeth, or both. Combining the best aspects of dentures—restores function and appearance—with dental implants results in replacement teeth that are every bit as secure as your natural teeth. Dr. Carr can place as few as four dental implants along your jaw, then design dentures that snap onto them.
